1. Wall 6: section q(October 2007)

Notes (July 2009)

Stable

Medieval masonry built on top of existing Hellenistic period masonry/Hellenistic spolia. The wall top has loose stones caused by tree roots and the top few courses lean out slightly. The trees have been felled so this problem should not worsen. The saplings visible above the wall should be cut back and poisoned.

Much of the medieval masonry joints have been demortared. At some point these joints should be repointed.

There is no urgent work needed on this section of wall. The wall top must be kept clear of vegetation and all trees within 4 metres of the wall top should be felled.
